Three perps IDd in kidnaping of baby Brandon Cuellar

Two men and a woman were identified Wednesday morning as the perps who kidnapped a 3-month-old baby boy from his family’s California home, police said.

Jose Roman Portillo, 28, Yesenia Guadalupe Ramirez, 43, and Baldomeo Sandoval, 37, are accused of snatching baby Brandon Cuellar from his mother’s apartment in San Jose, police said.

The trio, from San Jose, are facing charges of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, child abduction and home invasion.

Baby Brandon’s grandmother told the cops that she was watching the boy Monday when she had “momentarily” gone outside the apartment to unload groceries from her car.

When she went she went back inside, her grandson was gone, authorities said.

All three suspects are facing charges of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, child abduction and home invasion.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown man, later identified as Portillo, had allegedly entered the family’s apartment during the grandma’s absence and kidnapped Brandon.

Surveillance video showed the suspect waking away from the scene with a baby carrier in hand.

Officers from multiple local law enforcement agencies and FBI agents joined the frantic search for the missing baby and his kidnappers.

During the investigation, according to police, detectives learned that just before the abduction, Ramirez had offered Brandon’s grandmother a ride to run errands.

“As Suspect Ramirez’ statement changed several times during the interview process, the Detectives detained her as a person of interest,” cops said. “Suspect Sandoval was identified as an additional suspect in the case and was also detained and interviewed.”

Police did not explain what was Sandoval’s alleged role in the kidnapping plot.

Early Tuesday morning, police served a search warrant at Portillo’s home and found baby Brandon, who they said appeared to be “healthy and unharmed.”

Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive behind the baby’s abduction.

The 3-month-old was taken to a hospital for an evaluation as a precaution and was later reunited with his family.

“This incident is a parent’s worst nightmare, and we are fortunate that we have the best Department in the Nation that helped bring forward a positive outcome,” San Jose Chief of Police Anthony Mata said in a prepared statement.
